         Debating

Debating provides students in Stages 2 & 3 an opportunity to develop their public speaking skills, and research skills while preparing and presenting their case to an audience and / or adjudicators.

The purpose of debating is to promote collaboration between students, to assist students to develop research skills, to assist in argument development and to understand that arguments should be presented in a systematic order to ensure understanding of the topic / issue being debated.

Students at Bennett Road compete against other schools within the district and have had much success in previous years and have the opportunity to attend debating camps where students develop and enhance their own debating skills.

Children who are interested in joining the debating team should see Miss Harris in the library.
